Thanksgiving

Since Thanksgiving is 8 days away I thoght I would post a little bit about what Thanksgiving is and how it started.

The first Thanksgiving was celebrated after the first harvest in the New World in October of 1621.

When is Thanksgiving celebrated? The 4th Thursday of November

Why is Thanksgiving celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November? Since George Washington’s time, Thursday has been the day, and this was solidified by Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation in 1863 designating the national day of Thanksgiving to be the last Thursday of November. Later that was amended to the fourth Thursday in November.

Why is Thanksgiving so important? It is important because it is that time of the year to be greatful for what you have in life.

What does Thanksgiving actually mean to you? Thanksgiving means sharing time with family and saying thanks together.

If want to learn more on how it actually started without me telling you then I recommend watching this short video from Nat Geo.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving with family and friends.

Until next time Bye!!
